2025 EC Griffith Cup Commodores Thank you
MESSAGE from the Commodore - Victorian Speed Boat Club
🏁Hello to all Members and Volunteers who helped with the running of the 2025 Yarrawonga Speedboat Spectacular and Family Fair last weekend.
WOW🏆🏆🏆
What an absolutely amazing weekend it turned out to be for so many reasons.
***The 2025 EC Griffith Cup Event was an event to rival all others***
🏁Firstly, the members and non-members who volunteered the time to do so many and varied tasks for the whole weekend.
It was amazing!!!
I will try not to single out too many names but the ones I do deserve special mention.
🏁To see so many of our members at their various jobs it just made me very proud of you all and the way everybody chipped in and got the job done.
Words can’t express my thanks enough to you all.
🏁There was huge numbers of our workers everywhere I went, which was evident as I made my way around the whole of the foreshore area, into the pits and around the perimeter gates meeting all the wonderful volunteers who weren’t even part of our club, but members of the local community in Yarrawonga - thank you so much for your time and effort.
🏁To all our members who were on land and worked tirelessly in the pit area, breath-testing, registration and handing out passes, to the radio monitors, to the pit gate controllers, to the pit Marshalls, to the fuel bund Marshalls, to the ramp Marshalls, the girls handing out the GPS units, to the first aid and paramedics.
🏁To the guys who worked tirelessly in the crane pits with the crane drivers and all the boat crews an amazing job with little or no thanks at all.
***THANK YOU ALL***
🏁Special thanks to ***Josie Shaw*** for all your work leading up to and including the weekend thanks Josie! Also, thanks must go to ***Dianne Scott*** and ***Dianne Shaw*** for all the work co-ordinating the registrations and to ***Heidi our VSBC Secretary*** for her commitment and race-day live programming.
🏁To John Ruth and all the on-water teams and crews - an amazing job Guys. I personally know what it takes to be out on the water for nearly 3 long days of watching and waiting for the slightest problem to occur then to act and respond so quickly is a great effort. Thanks John and crew.
🏁To John Thomas and all the divers all little bit more work than normal but job well done guys, first response is vital, and you did it well.
🏁To the Catering staff and crew - I really don’t know what to say here except my deepest thanks to all of you.
You guys were always first there preparing the food and with Nat and Kim’s coffee breakfasts were first class.
🏁To the cooks - massive efforts guys n girls the food was the best ever which is not to say it isn’t ever but the standard you set is second to none.
All the serving staff with the happy smiling faces thank you, thanks for the on-water lunch packs as well
I must mention Tim and Jenny Brown huge thanks and to Christine Howard huge thanks go to you all
🏁Very special mention here to our members and transport sponsors Sherri-Leigh and Ben Land from LAND TRANSPORT!!
We are very lucky to have these guys as part of our club and from everyone involved on the organisation committee - Massive thank you
🏁The logistics of handling the equipment you guys did especially Ben loading and unloading was incredible to witness - the amount of gear that went on and off that magnificent transport rig nothing short of sensational.
🏁Probably my most grateful thanks must go to the organisation committee led by Event Co-Ordinator Steve Scott and equally as much to his assistant and confidante Ray Palmer. ***The time and effort these two guys put into this race meeting was incredible***
It was a BIG job you guys had - to follow up from the show last year and deliver the goods again.
But I think from what I feel and how it felt last weekend you surpassed it with flying colours in every way.
🏁These guys were ably supported by our Race secretary Troy Cameron and his awesome assistant and best mate - Megan Bazley (VSBC Promotions Crew).
🏁Thanks, guys, for everything you do and to the Promotions Crew for thundering your mighty chorus “Come Feel the Noise” with a special mention to our social media extraordinaire Paula Gill for her time and passionate dedication to the sport via the VSBC social media Pages promoting both the club and the greatest sport on earth!
🏁Thanks must go to all our non-members boat racing assistants who came from other Race Clubs both here and interstate to help us run this massive event.
🏁As you all know it takes huge numbers to make it all happen and we say a huge thank you to everyone involved with the running of the actual race meeting.
🏁On that point would like to thank all the competitors and crews who make the effort each year come to Yarrawonga each year and help us put on the display that is now for the second year in a row the biggest race meeting of the year.
🏁Congratulations must go to all the winners, and we hope to see you back again next year, to those who weren’t so lucky it’s a hard game we are in, and you just never know what’s around the corner, but we would love to see you all back again next year.
🏁So now with all the excitement dying down and calmness gets back to our lives we look forward to next year’s event when we will do it all again.
🏁My thanks go out to our sponsors and our partners in presenting the event, the Moira Shire, Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism, The Mulwala Waterski Club who have been a long time sponsor and of course our own MSC Signs, Scott Patterson, can’t do it without you mate, Babcon Cranes, Lucas Oil, Battery World, Red Bull Matt Hall Racing, Borris the Boxer Productions, Yarrawonga holiday Park, Yarrawonga Toyota, Sundancer homes, The Sebel, Race Day Medical, Simmonds,
